STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

For dealing with MOULD GROWTH on walls, ceilings, window reveals, window frames, doors, skirting boards etc.

RLT BACTDET 05 is used to eradicate and remove surface mould before preparation work.

RLT HALOPHEN is used to sterilise and protect the surface.

Areas to be treated:  The whole area must be treated where mould can be seen and the treatment extended one metre (3ft) beyond the infected area in all directions on the walls or ceilings.  Carpets should be lifted, especially fitted carpets, and the flooring cleaned using the RLT BACTDET 05.

STEP 1:  Empty the RLT BACTDET 05 into the container and make up to one litre with warm water.  Take the sponge or a cleaning cloth or brush and wash off the mould.  Allow surface to dry before proceeding.

Note:  Wallpapered surfaces must be washed prior to stripping.  After wallpaper has been removed, the infected area must be washed again.  All wallpaper removed should be bagged, sealed and taken from the premises immediately.

STEP 2:  PREPARATION:  Prepare surfaces, scrape off all loose or flaking paint and rub down.  Previously painted surfaces must be etched using sandpaper or similar, before proceeding to Step 3.

STEP 3:  Empty RLT HALOPHEN into the container and make up to one litre with warm water and apply to the dry wall and ceiling surfaces.  Apply using the brush provided and allow to dry before decorating.

All areas of wall and ceiling surfaces must be treated with RLT HALOPHEN where RLT BACTDET 05 has been used.

MGC FUNGICIDAL ADDITIVES are specially formulated to protect the decoration from mould attack.  They can be incorporated into Emulsion Paint, Primers, Undercoats and Gloss Paint, plus Wallpaper Paste, Size, Textured Paints and Grout.

STEP 4:  Add the contents of one MGC FUNGICIDAL ADDITIVE to each 2½ litres of Emulsion Paint, Wallpaper Paste or Size.  Add the contents of one MGC FUNGICIDAL ADDITIVE to each 5 litres of Primer, Undercoat or Gloss Finish.

Thoroughly stir materials after adding contents of MGC FUNGICIDAL ADDITIVE.

Alternatively, use BIOCHECK EMULSION – available in Matt or Silk Finish – on walls and ceilings and BIOCHECK WATER-BASED GLOSS on woodwork, metalwork, etc, these decorative finishes are specially formulated to resist mould.  Full details on both these products are available on request.

IMPORTANT:  Mould often results from condensation.  To lessen the problem ensure adequate ventilation, preferably from a point near the source of the moisture, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.

In severe or persistent cases of mould other methods of treatment may be required and these are available on request.

Coverage:  Not to exceed 10-122m per diluted litre.
